Team Members Recognized for Quick Stroke Alert Response

In honor of National Stroke Awareness Month, Doctors Medical Center recognized some of our providers that had the quickest door to IV thrombolytic therapy administration time (Door To Needle) during a Stroke Alert for Q1: Brent Avila (ED RN), Heather Rubio (NCCU RN) and Dr. Erik Lacy (ED Physician). We also highlighted our CT Radiology Team who plays an important role in the Stroke Alert process: Abigail Rosas and Trina Wright.

At Doctors Medical Center, we continue to improve stroke care in our community. A prompt Door To Needle time is one of the important metrics that impacts patient care outcomes. The sooner we can safely administer the clot busting medication, the better the chance the patient has toward recovery. Time is brain.
