Tassy the therapy dog makes the rounds at Doctors Medical Center

Tassy with patientGeri Azevedo volunteers at Doctors Medical Center as a therapy dog handler. She and her certified therapy dog, Tassy, make the rounds in hospital units to cheer up patients.

It is well-known, and scientifically proven, that interaction with a gentle, friendly pet can have significant benefits. Azevedo has volunteered more than 20,000 hours at Doctors Medical Center.
