Doctors Medical Center Governing Board Members Encourage COVID-19 Vaccines

Nov 5, 2021

A Message to Our Community:

As the local Governing Board of Doctors Medical Center, our community’s health and well-being is of utmost importance to us. Unfortunately, the number of COVID-19 cases remains high in Stanislaus County and in many areas around the country.

Getting vaccinated is one of many steps you can take to protect yourself and others from COVID-19. Protection from COVID-19 is critically important because for some people, it can cause severe illness or death.

Currently in Stanislaus County, the younger adult population (ages 25-65) is the age group being hit hardest by COVID-19. Many of which, are not vaccinated. According to Stanislaus County Health Services Agency, 82% of patients who are hospitalized with COVID-19 in our county are not vaccinated and 93% of the patients who’ve died from COVID-19 were not vaccinated. At Doctors Medical Center, the vast majority of the patients admitted with COVID-19 are not vaccinated and they are typically the ones who need the highest intensity of care.

Vaccines work with your immune system so your body will be ready to fight the virus if you are exposed. Other steps – like hand washing, masking and social distancing while around others not in your household – help reduce your chance of being exposed to the virus or spreading it to others. Together, COVID-19 vaccination and following CDC’s recommendations to protect yourself and others will offer the best protection from COVID-19.

We strongly encourage those who have not received the COVID-19 vaccine to please schedule an appointment to get vaccinated. By receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, you are not only protecting yourself, but also your loved ones. To schedule an appointment, head to MyTurn.ca.gov or call (833) 422-4255.

Please continue to take care of yourself and don’t delay your medical needs. As always, our teams at Doctors Medical Center are here for you and your loved ones whenever you may need us.

Let’s continue working together to stop the spread.

Sincerely,
