Labor & Delivery

No children under the age of 12 years will be permitted to visit in the Unit during labor and delivery.

A total of three (3) visitors who are identified by badges and/or bands will be permitted at a time in the Labor and Delivery room. Visitors may rotate.

One visitor may accompany the patient to the WCC operating room for Cesarean Birth procedures.

The physician, and/or nursing staff, may further limit or expand visitation (including child visitation) based on the individual patients’ clinical condition, social support needs, and/or security needs.

Visitation may be further restricted during seasonal outbreaks of influenza and/or other communicable diseases.

Siblings accompanied and directly supervised by an adult (other than the mother) may visit in L&D following delivery.

FCMC Visiting Hours

No children under the age of 12 years will be permitted to visit in the Unit except supervised siblings of the newborn. The primary BANDED support person may visit any time between 6am and 11pm.

Grandparents and siblings to the newborn (with adult supervision) may visit between 12pm and 8pm.

A total of five (5) visitors at a time including siblings of the newborn may visit between 12pm and 8pm and must be at least 12 years old.

The physician and/or nursing staff may further limit or expand visitation based on the individual patients’ clinical condition, social support needs, and/or security needs.

Visitation may be further restricted during seasonal outbreaks of influenza and/or other communicable diseases.

High Risk Unit Visiting Hours

During the patient's stay in this unit, visitation privileges may fluctuate or change according to the patient's condition.  (See FCMC general guidelines listed above for visiting hours.)

 

General Guidelines

Visitors with symptoms of communicable disease will not be allowed to visit hospitalized patients.

All children will be attended and supervised by a responsible adult (other than mother) while visiting.

Visitors are prohibited from using patient bathrooms.

All visitors will be screened and identified prior to visitation by security staff and further observed and monitored by the nursing staff.

Visitors must wear identification badges or armbands at all times and enter and leaves units through monitored exits and entrances.
