2014 Education and Survivorship Information

 

All events are held at the DMC Conference Center, 1441 Florida Avenue, Modesto.  The Conference Center is the 1-story building between the multi-level parking garage and the hospital's Emergency Entrance.  Handicapped parking is available.  All parking is free.

Chemotherapy Classes - January 28, April 29, July 29, November 4
6:00-7:30 pm:

Come join us to learn about your treatment and receive support and information to help you on your cancer journey.  Taught by an Oncology-Certified Nurse.  Representatives from American Cancer Society, Chemo Crew, and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will be on site.

Social Work Forum - August 20
6:30-8:00 pm:

Discover how your cancer care can improve with the help of social work.  A panel of social workers specializing in cancer care will present information.  Representatives from American Cancer Society and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will be on site.

Cancer Journey Survivorship - October 22
6:30-8:00 pm:

Meet and share your experiences with other survivors, and receive information on nutrition, exercise, risk factors, support services available, and quality of life after cancer.  Representatives from American Cancer Society, Chemo Crew, and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will be on site.

The American Cancer Society's
"Look Good, Feel Better Program"

 
"Look Good Feel Better is a free program offered by the American Cancer Society, that teaches beauty techniques to women cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. A specially trained, licensed cosmetologist with show you how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products. Each participant will receive a free cosmetic kit and other gifts".
