| DMC Announces Appointment of Chief Operating Officer |

Doctors Medical Center announced today that Michael J. King has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Doctors Medical Center. Mike has served Doctors Medical Center as Chief Financial Officer since 2001. His appointment is effective September 4, 2006.
“Mike has proven himself as an effective and competent leader,” said Dennis M. Litos, Chief Executive Officer of Doctors Medical Center. “His experience, coupled with his keen understanding of our operations, provides a valuable knowledge base for assessing and improving the operational strategies and efficiencies of various clinical and ancillary departments.”

I look forward to working with our physicians and leadership team on continuing to sharpen that focus while we plan for meeting the needs of our growing community.”
King has served Tenet Healthcare Corporation as a Chief Financial Officer in three different hospitals, most recently at Doctors Medical Center of Modesto, and prior to that at Community Hospital of Los Gatos and Central Carolina Hospital. Before joining Tenet in 1998, King served as a Senior Manager, in charge of the firm’s largest healthcare provider client at KPMG Peat Marwick Los Angeles.
King is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern California.
