Modesto, California – Doctors Medical Center has been named a Distinguished Hospital by J.D. Power and Associates. This distinction acknowledges a strong commitment by Doctors Medical Center to provide an “Outstanding Patient Experience” for our inpatient services.

The service excellence distinction was determined by surveying recently discharged patients from Doctors Medical Center on their perceptions of their hospital stay and comparing the results to the national benchmark established by the annual J.D. Power and Associates National Hospital Service Performance Study.

The telephone-based research conducted among Doctors Medical Center patients focused on five key drivers of patient satisfaction with their overall hospital experience. These drivers, which were identified in the national study, are: dignity and respect; speed and efficiency; comfort; information and communication; and emotional support.

Doctors Medical Center exceeds the national benchmark study score for overall inpatient satisfaction. Patients indicate that they are particularly satisfied with how the medical center explains the procedure being performed as well as instructions for care after discharge from the hospital.

Doctors Medical Center also performed well in providing patients with a comfortable experience, particularly in the comfort of the bed and in staff concern for patient comfort during procedures.

Patients were asked to rate their level of trust and confidence in the center after their inpatient stay. A majority of patients indicate they have “more” or “much more” trust and confidence in Doctors Medical Center after their most recent stay.

Non-government, acute-care hospitals throughout the nation are eligible for the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital recognition for inpatient, emergency department, outpatient, and maternity services. Distinction is valid for one year, after which the hospital may reapply for this recognition.
